- Oscar Horta (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela): Wild animal population ethics: toward reducing, rather than increasing, suffering (ONLINE)
Abstract: There are different ways humans currently help wild animals, not as members of certain species or ecosystems, but as sentient individuals. This talk will describe how population ethics and cross-disciplinary work incorporating research from ecology and animal welfare science can inform the expansion of such efforts, with the aim of reducing overall wild animal suffering.
