The study circle A, who is also present during Summer Session 2024, have recently launched #TheGothenburgManifesto of the transnational Movement for a Free Academia to call for an academic system built on an ethics of care, openness, trust and integrity. The aim is to create true academic freedom for researchers and regain the freedom to pursue and ask the right questions.

The new academic system that we call for must be structured to serve people and nature, not to profit from their exploitation. The manifesto is intended to be a seed of change and an open-ended invitation for all researchers around the world to heed this call.
