Plans for Summer

Dear future and previous participants!

During the last two months NSU has hosted a broad range of activities in different winter sessions in the Nordics and Baltics. From the board’s perspective we are happy that so many different discussions, debates and activities can find room in one organization. Based on reports and occasional visits to certain circles it seems clear that there is no lack of ideas and projects for the future within NSU!

We are also preparing for the summer, and most of the circles have issued a CfP for the summer session. The summer is looking to be amazing, with two invited PhD-schools and lots of activity in the circles. We are also looking forward to a host of new applications for three-year study-circles. We hope that as many as possible will join this summer. Lots of new and good things are happening within NSU and we need every support to continue developing in the spirit of the last 70+ years.

Report on Winter Symposia 2024

The winter has also provided the possibility to find new participants, and we have had several new groups interested in working with NSU. We have reasons to expect several new proposals for three-year study-circles, and a first round of community review will take place during the board and coordinators meeting on May 5th. A first deadline for proposals is April 30th, and a second deadline for proposals is July 30th. More information can be found here: https://www.nsuweb.org/call-for-project-proposals-2025-2027-deadlines-30-april-and-30-july-2024/

For coordinators

Please note May 5th in your calendars!

Also note that for coordinators, the deadline to send in a list to Arrkom with the selection of participants for scholarships/grants is April 30th. Arrkom will then distribute the grants equally between the groups who have submitted lists. If there are late applications for scholarships/grants, these will be considered if there are undistributed scholarships/grants after the first round.

Sincere regards,

The board
